14 teams what can i do to better my team
What do u think of my team 14 teams?
Drop Millwood for one. Then look for another 3rd baseman who can back up Rolen. He is a question mark to whether he will be able to turn around his bad start and start performing like he has the last couple of seasons. Get the best 3B available and if Rolen doesn't heat up, drop him in after waiting about a month. Other than that, you probably can't get any good players in free agency because it is a 14 team league, so maybe explore trade options and see if you can get an impact player.
You don't really have anyone who can steal bases, so maybe target someone who will. Otherwise you might finish near last in that category. Hope this helps and good luck.
Reply:I am sorry to tell you this but I think that your team really sucks. If you arent in last place I would be quite surprised. Your catcher isnt much, your 1st and 3rd basmen are struggling through probably their worst seasons and your outfield is only so so. As far as your pitching staff goes keep Hudson, Dice K, Lackey, Jenks and maybe Derek Lowe and Escobar. Millwood can go, as can Lieber, Looper and Guthrie. As far as Carpenter I think he is finished for the season. I think St, Louis would rather have him healthy for next year rather than chance bringing him back.
Reply:Carpenter is gone as well,
you have 1 closer, who isn't a great one.
Your outfield isn't strong, and the only thing weaker than your outfield is your bench.
I don't like this team at all.
Reply:Scott Rolen may not actually be alive, he's so cold. At best, bench him until he turns things around, if you don't cut him completely.
To replace him, check if Chone Figgins is avaiable. He was ice cold for about a month, but is hitting about .500 in regular playing time over the past week, and he has a ton of upside (especially for steals). Mark Reynolds of the Diamondbacks has turned it on in a big way since getting called up, and he'd be a marked improvement over Rolen.
Your pitching could use some work. You'll need another closer for sure, and you have a couple of starters who need to go. There's a Cincinnati prospect named Homer Bailey who may get called up soon. He'd definitely be an improvement over Millwood. Chad Gaudin may be taken, but is hot and often unowned. For the saves, make sure Matt Capps and Brad Hennessey aren't out there, as both recently got promoted to the ninth inning.
Reply:Not a bad lineup, but see if you can get someone younger and hotter than Rolen. Braun and Reynolds are two names on the wire these days. Also, you might be able to add a good closer like Gregg or Hennessey because the only real closer I see there is Jenks.
Reply:Personally, I would dump Rolen AND Hamilton, they're too inconsistent. Unless you have an insanely huge starting roster and can play both of them all the time along with all your other guys. Instead of Rolen, I'd try to pick up Youkilis. I got him off waivers in my league and the guy has been a STUD! He's versatile too, can play 1B, 3B, and OF.
I'd also try to pick up Lidge off waivers, he started slow, but has turned it on as of late.
Unreal that you're in such a big league though, that probably makes your waiver wire pretty slim pickins. Good luck!
