What you think of my fantasy baseball team 14 team league isWilly Taveras worth a pick up i need sb?
Taveras is absolutely worth a pickup -- shocked he wasn't drafted in a league this deep. I would take him several rounds higher than Rowand. He's moved to Colorado which should help him get on base more, and he has the speed to get a boatload of steals.
This is an easy pickup.
Reply:No get Ryan Freel or Juan Pierre
Reply:I don't know if he helps you with sb, but I'm really suprised Tavares is available in a 14 team league. He's a quality pickup in a 12 team league. I like him over both Griffey and Rowand, in the long haul.
Reply:I'd strongly recomend that you pick him up.
One Griffey is a huge injurey concern, he could have a great year, but if something happens, Willys a pretty sharp backup. Even if Griff is fine, you may want to start Willy ahead of Rowand, or swap them in and out depending on the match up.
Just to give you a little idea, three days in, Willy has already stolen 2 bags this season, is looking really sharp and should have a very good year, if not an elite year, in that aspect.
You may want to drop one of your 10 starters, but I don't know what kind of rules your league uses. 10 seems a bit excessive, I usually bring at most 6 to the table. You seem very light on any closing talent and might want to find any closers in waiting out there. Joel Zumya or Rafael Soriano for example might well take over for the older closers on their teams. Or even take some of your excelent starting tallent and broker a trade for the saves you're lacking.
Reply:YEAH!!! in a 14 team league, that's crazy if he isn't drafted. Snap him up immediately. Lots of guys you could drop, but I'd go for Rowand or McClung.
Reply:Grab Tavares! He should put up close to 50 SB's....one of the elite base stealers this year. Also, he's hitting at the front of Colorado's potent lineup, so he should be over 100 runs too.
Reply:Willy Taveras is predicted to have a better year so yes, he's worth picking up. If Mike Cameron is available, grab him. He'll get you hits as well as stolen bases. He is also an every day player.
