you have great hitters, not doubt, BUT your pitching staff is weak which lowers you down, once halladay gets back youll be an 7 or 8
Reply:you have good hitting, but poor pitching!!! drop shawn green, jose cruz and pick up at least 2 starting pitchers!!! you have no starting pitchers except kevim escobar!!! roy is hurt. hope this helps.

Barret is solid but not spectacular

Howard is a nice piece for 1B

Polanco is decent for average and runs but an injury risk

Lowell has been solid but I just can't shake the feeling he is playing over his head and that his numbers well level off.

Greene has always had potential but low batting average, consistency and injuries always hold him back.

Holliday is a great outfielder - never been a Bonds fan - never know when he is going to break down. Burrell is notoriously streaky and Cruz is a 4th fantasy outfielder at best.

Weeks is still suffering from wrist issues from last season and there is always going to be that for the rest of this season - a lengthy DL stint would not suprise me.

Green is out indefenitely. Youlikus is a nice util piece and can help at various positions.

As for starting pitching - besides Halladay - you don't offer much - Escobar has been marred by inconsistency and injuries and Sampson is not better than a #4.

Bullpen looks above average - especially if your league has holds - if not - then carrying so many middle relievers won't help you in the long run.

This looks like a really deep league - more than 14 teams I would think looking at the roster.

7.5-8. Lacking SB and Wins. Starting Pitching seems relatively weak. Im not a Bonderman fan and i think Lackey is average. Nick Swisher should be starting over Nick Markakis. You have a good lineup. Plenty of HR and RBI, but not a very high BA. Good Saves in street. My choice for Reliever of the year. Overall, i would say its a decent team. Might want to pick up some SB off free agents. Such as Kenny Lofton(A good 1 year guy. Not good for a keeper league). And dont bother with that trade. If your going to make a trade, make it for a reliable 15+ game winning Starting Pitcher. The trade weakens your lineup.

good team
Reply:Offense looks fine, exceptfor Dye who is killing me, pitching could use another starter possibly, drop on of your offenseive players to get more pitching.
Reply:i'd say somewhere around a seven or eight right now. 10 team league is 2 fewer than most, so every team will be a little better than normal. Even with that though, your hitting is solid, agree with above guys that you need SB though. Only two Sp and a P? Lackey and Bondy isn't strong enough, i can only imagine how stacked some people will be. Your closers are strong, but you can only start 2 at a time? trade one or two if i got that right.

look to improve Sb's and SP. Do that and you can win.
Reply:6, Fantasy Baseball is won and lost on pitching, at most you should have one bench hitter, the rest primarily starting pitchers. Next time you draft think pitching and roster spots that are difficult to find quality guys for. Positions like OF and 1B never need large emphasis as there are always plenty of guys to fill those voids.

umm.. your pitching looks good except for benitez and rogers. rogers is gone til the all-star game. benitez, idk about him. but im sure theres another RP out there other then him. look and see if dustin hermanson is still on your waivers. sammy sosa and hermanson just got added to the pool. see if you can grab another starter too. look for someone like chuck james or nate robertson.

your hitting looks pretty solid. watch the catchers this year on waivers. varitek is a great catcher but not when it comes to fantasy baseball. watch napoli and russell martin. these two guys could have solid years.

Rate my team please!?
ok lets go player by player

c- martinez is a stud good for power and a bit of average and more value due to his eligibilty at first base

1b- delgado good for 30+homers and knock in a ton of runs with that lineup

2b- lugo will score about 130 runs with that boston lineup hitting leadoff fits well in fenway park

3b- atkins highly underrated good for another great year expect same numbers as last year

ss- renteria has regained form since rejoining nl

of- ichiro in contract year = big year in sb and average

of- lee is a stud good for 30/100/.300 and steals 20

of- soriano a stud as well good for 35/110/.280 and 30 sb

util- patterson is good all around player good for 15-20 homers 80rbis and 30sb good speed as leadoff man

bn- johnson on dl as of right now so dont expect anything out of him but when healthy has great raw power

bn- taveras is good for 40sb and thats about it

sp- johan...can you say cy young? lol

sp- carpenter another cy young caliber pitcher when healthy

rp- papelbon will have close to 40 saves again this year but dont expect microscopic era again

rp- krod is exactly that lol will grab most saves in mlb this year

p- zitos era will drop a whole point in nl and k's will go back up as well

p- arroyo is a true innings eater good for another 200inning plus year

p- rogers is agingin but always reliable

bn- johnson era will drop but ks wont rise due to age and homers will go down though expect around 12 wins

bn- weathers isnt a top tier rp but good for a decent amount of saves

bn- hensley is great sleeper pick expect big year if he can control his stuff

overall i would say your team has a great mix of power and speed ...you will get more than enough sb out of lugo, ichiro, lee, soriano, patterson, and taveras and the thing is you arent even compromising power for that speed so you did an excellent job drafting your lineup and as for your rotation its got enough aces on it to carry you with 2 potential cy young winers on it (johan, carpenter) and your two closers are two fo the best in the game in papelbon and krod ....i thinks this team is one of the best 12 team leagues ive seen

if you are looking for a sleeper bat or two look for chris duncan, ty wigginton, jonny gomes, or adrian gonzalez

or a sleeper pitcher you might want to grab is chuck james, jeremy sowers, or adam wainwright

hope i helped

goodluck and have fun!!
Reply:I LOVE your outfield

9 out of ten

you have a good chance at winning the wole thing
Reply:For a 12-team league, it's looking like you have a winner.

Nice balance. The only concern I would have is not dominating any one category. But if you're producing solid numbers in every category, you'll be ok.
Reply:7 out of 10. The lineup is sub-par, but your pitching is superb. You should be able to finish at least 4th. Good luck!
Reply:9 out of 10. good outfield, pretty good pitching.

Can you give me some fantasy football advice?

Below is my team and proposed starters. I'm struggling with who to start at WR, especially my #3 guy (Kennison - I don't think he's any good).

I play in the standard Yahoo league with 1 pt per 20 yds (rushing and receiving) and 6 per TD and -2 per fumble

So the question is, who should I start? Kennison, Glenn or Branch?? And, is Green a better option than Williams or Jones-Drew?

QB E. Manning (NYG - QB) vs HOU

WR M. Harrison (Ind - WR) vs @NE

WR D. Driver (GB - WR) vs @BUF

WR E. Kennison (KC - WR) vs @ STL

RB T. Barber (NYG - RB) vs HOU

RB A. Green (GB - RB) vs @BUF

TE K. Winslow (Cle - TE) vs @SD

BN T. Glenn (Dal - WR) vs @WAS

BN D. Branch (Sea - WR) vs OAK

BN C. Williams (TB - RB) vs NO

BN M. Jones-Drew (Jac - RB) vs TEN

BN R. Brown (Phi - WR) Bye

BN L. Washington (NYJ - RB) Bye

Can you give me some fantasy football advice?
Glenn and Williams sounds like the best way to go
Reply:I dont know u might want to start glenn or branch. Romo just throws to T.O and oaklans d is pretty good against the pass ans branch has wallace throwing to him.
Reply:Can I have your team? wow!. I would put Glenn in for Kennison. TO will get Shawn Springs and Sean Taylor. Glenn will be open all day. Branch is a good play too, but I'd be worried that Seattle won't need to pass to much. I would start GLENN.

Manning, harrison, Driver, Glenn, Barber, Green, Winslow. Your entire team, matches up well.
Reply:I would defnitely play GLenn over Kennison. I don't think Kennison is any good either. I would start Green. Williams has not done much and is way too inconsistent for me. Jones-Drew wouldn't be a bad start either, but I would keep Green in my lineup while he is on a hot streak.
Reply:definitely play terry glenn over kennison..

as far as your rb's are concerned? that's a toss up

i'd play cadillac.. but ahman green has been ballin' lately.. so you can keep him in your line up if you feel comfortable w/ him
Reply:play Green for sure. not sure how many wr you play in aweek but 1. Harrison 2 Driver 3 Glen

Thanks for the advice!

Who should I trade for a second catcher...?
well, are you looking for a M / Th replacement or, just want to have another C. I'd leave things are they are, and if McCann gets hurt then IR him and go bet the hottest catcher at the time. If you NEED to have a 2nd catcher, trade / dump Ankiel. with multi position you can play Cano, and move Upton to the OF.

thats my take. The team is pretty good. I like the pitching staff, its how I'd build one, but might watch the wire and dump johnson if he doesn't get back a little. broxton and okajima should keep your ERA down and kick in some Ks.

all in all nice work.
Reply:It's a solid team overall. Since Ankiel should play over Ibanez, I'd take him and Escobar or Loney and see if you can get a taker. I don't like the Big Unit going forward either.

Are you sure you have to give anything up to get that #2 C? There are a ton of sleepers that should be fantasy contributors this season. I would first look to see if you can get a guy like Soto, Ruiz, Y. Molina, Napoli, or Towles off the waiver wire first.
Reply:i would trade ankiel because he is just not good enough to be on your team!
Reply:waiver wire. if you're looking for a player like lo duca noone on your team is worth that little. or in a future trade ask for their 2nd catcher as just a throw in.
Reply:Your team is dirty... you must be in a small league. Your starting pitching could use a little help though. Trade okajima for someone like satalamacchia or soto. A set up man doesn't mean much in most leagues and hitters will have figured him out by the time next season starts. There's plenty of young pitching out there that you can snag as a replacement.
Reply:Peralta, Lowe and Billingsley. All your weak players should get you a catcher.
Reply:I would not trade any of your pitching. Ankiel and Guillien are the logical choices, especially the former, since his mad stats dipped considerably after the one-tour around the league.
Reply:i would pick up Geovany Soto of the cubs, he had a unbelievable end to last season.

I like ur hitting but ur starting pitching staff scares me. Sheets and johnson are huge injury risks

Fantasy WR: Crayton, Engram, Randle El or B. Jones?

I have I need to pick up a wide receiver off the waivers for Weeks 5, Week 6, and Week 7 b/c Hines Ward will be hurt for Week 5 and has a bye on Week 6, and Steve Smith has a bye week on Week 7. I have Muhsin Muhammad on my bench, but he has a tough schedule over the next 3 weeks. My best options are:

Patrick Crayton (vs. Buf, NE, and Min)

Bobby Engram (vs. Pit, NO, and STL)

Antwaan Randle El (vs. Det, GB, ARI)

Brandon Jones (vs. ATL, TB, and HOU)

I am second in order on the waivers...Who do you think I should pick up?

Thanks for you help...

Fantasy WR: Crayton, Engram, Randle El or B. Jones?
i would go for Crayton he should have a good game against Buf. They will prob. try and double TO so that should leave him more chances to get some yards or a score.

If he's not available then Engram or Randle El.
Reply:I say you drop Muhammad too. Pick up Crayton and Randle El.

Crayton is coming to be a go to receiver when witten and TO are getting pressured.

and Randle El is going to play mediocre defenses, should have good games. You can keep muhammad, but its a toss up...I had him, and I dropped him

Should I trade Dwayne Wade?

I have been thinking for a while if I should or not. Wade has been my keeper for three years but I usually finish about 8 or 9 every year in a 16 team keeper league. I just miss the playoffs.

I was recently offered

Amare for Wade.

I was wondering because Wade does have those shoulder problems.

My team looks like this

PG-Dwayne Wade

SG-Kevin Martin

SF-Stephen Jackson

PF-Pau Gasol

C-Tyson Chandler

Util-Andrea Baragani

bn-Craig Smith

bn-Luke Ridnour

bn-Matt Barnes

bn-Bobbie Simmons

bn-Grant Hill

16 Team, Keeper, H2H

PTS, FGM, RBS, STL, AST, T/O

Should I trade Dwayne Wade?
Hmmm, individually, I would definitely do Amare for Wade. Without a doubt.

But looking at the players you have, maybe not. Without Wade, you'd have to start Ridnour (assuming you dont make other moves), which is definitely a bad thing. Ridnour might not even start this year.

You also have Gasol, Chandler, and Bargnani at the positions where you could play Amare, and I dont think any of those 3 should be benched. Well after looking at your stat. categories, benching Bargnani wont really hurt you... but that PG position is still weak.

So unless you can pull off another trade where you give Bargnani or someone, for a decent enough PG, dont do it.
Reply:Might I add a note that no one seems to have picked up on? Why on earth is Craig Smith or Matt Barnes on this team? I realize this is a H2H league, but neither of them are expected to make significant strides in the future.
Reply:yes do it
Reply:since you say you don't count blocks or fg% i would say no. wade's only out a few weeks, and since this is h2h his injury only costs you until he gets back. you already have good centres and this trade will leave you with basically no assists. plus it is a keeper league so the injury is even less significant so you should be thinking who you would rather build around in the future.
Reply:Amare for wade. Take it. Now. Wade is coming off an injury and Amare is going to be stepping it up this season for sure. Do it.

Is this a good trade?
I don't know your scoring but you look to be trading a #1 receiver a solid # 2 WR an overrated DT, maybe the top LB in the league and another solid LB. And you are receiving an overrated receiver in Johnson (check the stats Houshmanzadeh is the #1 on the Bengals) a back-up RB and a #3 WR.

You could be better at both WR and RB but you should be able to get better deal than this.

By the way, (unless I am mistaken) you're in a league where you drafted 15 defensive players. Seek help.
Reply:I would not make that trade. But I would get rid of young as fast as i could. Not only is he over rated he has the Madden curse on him
Reply:Has interesting possibilities.
Reply:Don't make the trade!
Reply:Andre Johnson should not be traded this season. Keep that guy! The only trade you should make is for another RB. Andre will outscore CJ this year.

Good pitching. Don't change a thing.

As for hitting, you are also doing very well. I would put Upton at OF in place of Duncan and move phillips to 2B. That is the only thing I would change.

Good luck!
Reply:its a good team.
Reply:nice team overall...would find better players for varitek, duncan, monroe or sosa( who lost his place to botts) Pitching your well off!!!
Reply:Offense is a 6.5 and Pitching is a 7 drop James Shield he has become mediocre he was just hot get Ted Lilly if he is available or even John Maine or Ian Snell or Dustin McGowan there is a lot out there and try to get another RP like Jason Isurahasen from the Cards or Wickman idk
Reply:9.5 Try to trade Johnson and Varitek for Russel Martin. Drop Monroe for Melky Cabrera. Try to drop linceum for marcum.
Reply:Sosa shouldn't be on your team anymore. He's been demoted to a part time player and his avg. is horrible. I'd suggest getting Texas C/1B Jarrod Saltalamacchia if he's available. He's better than Varitek at this point. Other than that, I give this team a B+. You should be a contender for the league championship.
Reply:I think you're weak in OF and C, I don't know how many teams in your league or how many OFs you need but assuming 4-5 OFs only Holliday and Hart are in the stud category so I'd rank you're offense above average, say 6ish

Your pitching is much better, Zambrano has been a top 10 pitcher for several years and is back in form, Lincecum is unhittable and gets tons of Ks, Oswalt, Buehrle and Chris Young round out a nice 5 man rotation, Soria looks solid and Putz rules so you're fine there, I might rate your pitching as an 8

You might consider cashing in on some name recognition and bundle Glavin with Sosa for a better OF
Reply:good need another closer and probably package johnson and cuddyer for a speedy OF {taveras} is coming around. Will not need to pkg to get him.
Reply:pitching 7.9

batting 9.2
Reply:ur teams killin 12 team league are the other 11 guys stupid?
Reply:Well I applaude you on Jeter, A-Rod, Duncan, and Holliday in you line up but your outfield isn't the best. I'd say you're team is pretty fair because A-Rod and a few others make up for some of the not so great players like Monroe. I'd say drop him, even in a 12 team league I'm sure you can get someone a bit better than how he's performing.

You are a little reliant on one team, especially with Chipper Jones going on the DL. Sexson has an awful average this year. Zito is turning into one of the worst signings ever. But Smoltz, McCann, Beltran and Hernandez are solid picks.

I was stunned!

Can you rate my fantasy baseball team 1-10?
id get rid of patterson and lofton if i were you. i love your pitchers a solid rotation. your going to do very well ill put this lineup at an overall 8.
Reply:6 out of 10. You've got a strong Pitching roster. Your infield could be a little stronger.
Reply:you've got some good pics there but im gonna go with a 5, work on it and try to make it a little bit stronger
Reply:if you are being honest with this then your team is STACKED!... youll have no problem winning most offensive categories
Reply:I GIVE YOU AN 8

Loose Josh Johnson

I drfated him but I dropped him to get a relef pitcher because he wont be ready in time for opening day

How would you rate my fantasy baseball draft?

NOTE: This is for a league that has 14 teams and requires at least 14 pitchers so had to dig deep to find quality pitching.

Michael Barrett (ChC - C)

Paul Konerko (CWS - 1B)

Howie Kendrick (LAA - 2B,1B)

How would you rate my fantasy baseball draft?
Relief pitching is thin but aside from that problem it seems as if you draft well for a 14 team draft. Just watch the waiver wire for possible closers during the season. They are always new closers popping up throughout the year.

u need closers but everything else looks solid
Reply:Doesnt look to bad. I would possibly go find a Better OF then Jones. And if you can maybe drop wolf for a possible closer. Zumaya, B Walker. someone who could be a closer if someone doesnt preform.... But other than that I think your team looks pretty strong
Reply:A preety okay team. My advice get rid of Weaver, get better outfielders then Nick Swisher because your outfield has alot of holes and so does you catcher, and most of your infield positions. Your relief pitching sucks, try to get Zumaya like I did and maybe Bradford or Duaner Sanchez or Joe Borowiski ( think that's how you spell it )
Reply:Your team looks pretty decent. Lots of power and a solid rotation. However your relievers are not very good at the moment. However if Gagne or Saito get hurt (hopefully they don't cuz I am a Dodger fan who worships the departed Gagne and Saito is a great closer in the making) then Otsuka and Broxton will do well
Reply:You might need a proven closer at some point, i dont trust Otsuka. Other than that you have some good offensive players
Reply:well... it pretty much sucks
Reply:I would say it is good except for the fact you need a better closer

pretty good draft

Mike Nuble is out should i stash him or pick someone else up?

I'm thinking of addin (C)Scott Gomes (NYJ) because Lang (Det) is lagging this yr.

or (D)Roman Hamrlik (CGY) because i dont' trust (D)Kevin Bieksa (Van).

or i could pick up (RW)Bill Guerin (STL) because of his scoring ability.

Should i replace Nuble with anyone of these guys and if so which one?

(How long will his surgery take aprx.)

Mike Nuble is out should i stash him or pick someone else up?
Knuble may be done for the year. I'd dump him. Even if he comes back, he's not good enough to hang onto. He won't be back soon enough to make a difference.

I disagree with you about Kevin Bieska. What has Hamrlik really done in the past half dozen years? Not much. That said, Guerin is playing solid, based on who you list here. May as well get another wing if you're losing one.
Reply:Knuble is out indefinitely according to the Yahoo Fantsay Hockey site. He will most likely be out the rest of the season. Have you thought about guys like Michael Cammalleri or Paul Statsny at center?
Reply:do whatever you can to pick up zetterberg

GOWINGS
Reply:Knuble is going to be out for at least 6 weeks.
Reply:First, it's Scott Gomez (NJ), not Gomes (NYJ)

Second, pick up Guerin. He's on a hot streak right now and I think it will last most of the rest of the season.
Reply:pick up Guerin,Recchi,or Nagy if these guys are available.

Guerin gets some points and pm

Recchi has been hot, points and pp points

Nagy is a good player sent to a better team, risky but i think he'll produce alot more now.
Reply:Knuble's done for the year.

They can't operate until the swelling subsides.

No sense coming back for nothing - he's done.

I'd go for Guerin- he's kicking butt, taking names and will go to a contender at the deadline.

I expect he'll go to Detroit or the Rangers.

I'd keep Bieska- Salo will be dealt, Bieska's shot totals and Ice time are amazing in comparison to Hamrlik.

gomez over lang is fine.

keep an eye on Upshall in philly as a pick in deeper leagues.

Top line time with Gagne and Carter.

Help with Week 15 Lineup, in Playoff semi finals?

I was looking for some help with my fantasy lineup for this week, I made it to the semi finals and need to win this week :)

Need to start 2 RB's:

S. Jackson - STL

F. Gore - SF

A. Green - GB

W. McGahee - BUF

I was planning on starting Jackson and Gore as usual, but was wondering if I should possibly substitute Green who plays Detroit?

Need to start 3 WRs:

D. Driver - GB

J. Cotchery - NYJ

D. Branch - SEA

M. Clayton - BAL

M. Furrey - DET

C. Cooley - WAS

The only consistent option is Driver, where the others are up and down. I was thinking of starting Driver, Branch (#1 vs SF) and Cotchery since the Jets will have to air it out against the Vikes. Any suggestions or advice?

Thanks for your help!!

Help with Week 15 Lineup, in Playoff semi finals?
RB's - Jackson is going to run all over this pass-oriented defense (plus when they are up in the 2nd half he will get some garbage yards hopefully). I think you are right with sticking with Gore, the Seattle D has been very dissapointing and Gore is a very talented back...stick with the talent.

WR's - God I hate these 3 WR league's...you are right on with your picks...Driver is consistent, Branch played well against SF earlier in the year and Cotchery is fit to have a big game against a D that teams only pass on...Good Luck!
Reply:you are on the right track

gore and jackson

Driver and branch

toss up between Crotchery and furrey(playing pack horrible pass d)
Reply:Right on all the way....

Green Bay never knows what they want to do on offense and they give up on the run easily
Reply:FOR THE WR'S TAKE FURRY IF YOU WANT 80 YARDS, HE SHOULD ALSO BE DUE FOR A TD THIS WEEK AS HE IS THE ONLY WEAPON ON THE TEAM. DRIVER IS BOUND FOR THE SAME BUT LAY OFF COTCHERY THIS WEEK HE WILL BE TOO COVERED TO EXCELL AS FOR BRANCH ALWAYS TAKE A RUNNING BACK IF THEY ARE PLAYING SAN FRAN WHICH MEANS STAY AWAY FROM THE WR'S THEY WILL LOSE TIME AND MOST IMPORTLY THE TDS TO THE EASY AND LAME RUN DEFENSE OF SAN FRAN.

TO FINISH UP TAKE COOLEY FOR THE SLEEPER

ALSO TAKE GORE, HE IS ON FIRE AND BOUND TO HIT IT UP THIS WEEK AS WELL

LOSMAN HAS BEEN GIVEN THE GREEN LIGHT TO PASS MORE AND DEEPER SO PASS ON MCGAHEE FOR GREEN OR JACKSON
Reply:I would start Green/McGahee

on your WR's i would start Driver,Branch and Clayton
Reply:i like what u are thinking i would go with jackson and gore because they are great backs and driver, branch, and cotchery seems to be your best bet
Reply:You got it right with the WR's Driver , Cotchery, and Branch are the best choices in that position. The RB spot is a little more iffy but if I HAD to choose I would go with Stephen Jackson. The St. Louis Rams coach has made a commitment to use him and he has. Not only in running the ball but also as a viable receiver, and it shows in the amount of total yards he has this season. My second choice would be Frank Gore. He is a flat out BEAST. Though Ahman Green and Willis McGahee are also good options . This week Miami is playing against Buffalo and the Dolphins Defense is stopping everyone. So I would not choose Will Mc.Ahman Green has been spotty and inconsistent and up and down, all year. So go with the for sure thing.

ya i agree keep an eye on brady

according to the boston globe:

brady has sat out of practice the last 3 days do to an unknown injury...

this could be important

otherwise the team is solid and strong
Reply:Not that good if it's on yahoo because u really need a top RB to make it and u just don't i mean I'm a dolphins fan but Brown doesn't have the line or experience and Brady doesn't have the team he used to Holt will help u out alot but other than that i'de say out of ten i would give u a 3 at most Sorry
Reply:Solid unit - but keep an eye on Brady - there are reports that he is already injured, but Bellicheck won't say anything.
Reply:its a good team but i think that u should add some better players

like owens, shaun alexander, michael vick
Reply:i agree with everybody in here. you need another rb trade one of your receivers (moss) or package it with another rb (moats/perry) for a better rb.
Reply:trade bledsoe since u already have brady
Reply:You need another #2 runnig back! Fred Taylor is a #3 in fantasy leagues.I would trade one of your bench wr's and fred taylor for a better rb!
Reply:It's OK. I think Santana Moss and Fred taylor will dissapoint you. Pick of Michael Clayton instead of Eric Moulds, if he's available.
Reply:Strong at running back although you can probably still upgrade. Soemone will probably be looking at Addai or Taylor. If you need to upgrade anywhere its WR. Holt is a legit threat although there is talk of more running under the new coach in STL. As for Santana Moss, he is only as good as his QB, which is avg. (Remember its a run first team)

I like the moulds pickup though and Bureleson could be good but I sthink there are probably better players.
Reply:im not gonna lie- its not lookin too good for u this year- brady is gonna be great but fred taylor is only getting worse year by year and is way to injury prone- giants D wont do that great- shoulda got broncos or jaguars- feely wont do too good either and its not that great of an idea to take 2 ppl from the same team cuz they have the same bye week- try n get tynes or kasay
Reply:it helps to know your league set up, particularly how many teams are in your league, I'm guessing 12, in which case you have a decent team, but anyone relying on Fred Taylor concerns me.

12 team league and you must have picked somewhere around #10?

#10 You started with Ronnie Brown - good pick

#15 Torry Holt - top flite WR, but I'd have gone with a 2nd RB here

#34 there must have been a big run on RB and you were kicking yourself about the Holt pick - I'm not sure if you went with Taylor here or Moss -

#39 Santana Moss? He worries me this year; maybe you can package him and Taylor to improve your RB situation. There's at least one team out there with 3 RB better than Taylor.

The rest of your team looks pretty good. But you have other people's backups and not your own. See if Rudi's owner is interested in Perry. See if you can acquire Rhodes to complement Addai.

You may also want to look into Maurice Drew/Greg Jones of JAX if you can't replace Taylor.
Reply:Pretty good, but you might want to keep an eye on Moats. He has a knee injury.

Should I STREAM Pitchers and forefeit ERA/WHIP??

R, HR, RBI, Avg., SB, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP.

Currently I'm winning R, HR, RBI, SB and K's

My opponent is winning in Avg., W, SV, ERA, WHIP.

he's winning in Ws by only 1 and Saves by only 1.....and we are real tight in ERA/WHIP (we both have around 2.40 ERA and WHIP is close.

he has the following starters for the rest of the week:

Big Z @STL

Dice K vs. NYY

Carmona vs. KC

S. Hill vs. ATL

I have:

King Felix vs. TB

C. James @WAS

M. Cain @SD

The question is, with the guys he has remaining.....will he beat me in ERA/WHIP?

If so should I give up on ERA/WHIP and stream starters Sat and Sun (maybe stream 2 on Sat and 2 on Sun) to get 4 additonal SP. That way I can try and Claim W's and K's???

If I take the Streaming route I could try to win the week 6-4 with victories in R, HR, RBI, SB, W's and K's.

If I DO NOT STREAM.......I would hope for a 6-4 win victories in R, HR, RBI, SB, ERA, WHIP

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Should I STREAM Pitchers and forefeit ERA/WHIP??
ok, two things. one, based on his starters, its hard to figure who will win ERA or Whip with the people you've got up. For example, DiceK might get rocked by a hardhitting Yankee's lineup, or not. Carmona will probably turn in a solid, but Zambrano? your guess is as good as mine, he's been like a roller coaster. You should be safe on K. But there is one thing to remember here. If it ends up 5-5, the first tiebreaker is ERA. If you concede ERA and WHIP, and end up tied, you end up screwed.

What I would suggest is scouring your wire and seeing if Capps (RP-PT) is on it, or Corpas (RP-CO), both have save opportunities available this weekend, and generally closers have low ERA. I picked both of those guys up on waivers this week!! If you can pick up some saves and lower your ERA you should be safe.
Reply:If streaming is the picking up and dropping of starters, I think that strategy is pretty wimpy.

If I am out of contention in a league and I see someone doing that, I drop all my batters to pick up those forgotten starters just for fun to stop that.

By week 22, you should really have a decent team that doesn't require this tactic.

If I made my pick and made the starting lineup for the All-Star Game, then this would be my pick:

American League

C Joe Mauer, Minnesota - Leading the league in BA and hitting the ball like Ichiro with occasional SB, but drives in runs also.

1B Jim Thome, Chicago White Sox- A lost cause in Philadelphia, he rebounded in a big way, leading the American League in HR and top 10 in RBI, and also making Chicago a more formidable threat on offense than a year ago (his replacement in Philadelphia isn't that bad either).

2B Jose Lopez, Seattle - Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre were suppose to carry the "big" offense for Seattle but Lopez came out of nowhere to lead all 2B in RBI and having a breakout season.

SS Miguel Tejada, Baltimore - Former MVP is once again having to carry the load for Baltimore and he's not dissapointing anyone with his stats.

3B Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees - The reigning MVP hasn't lost his touch in another pressure-filled season in New York.

OF Vernon Wells, Toronto - A comeback year for him after a dismal season and leading Toronoto into playoff contention in a division fill with Yankees and Red Sox.

OF Carl Crawford, Tampa Bay - One of the most undderated player in baseball is on pace for his first 20-20, .300 season.

OF Alex Rios, Toronto - Breakout player of the year and finally putting a solid season that Toronto envision when he came up to the big leagues.

National League

C Michael Barrett, Chicago Cubs- Before the suspension, he was the only savior on offense for Chicago when Derrek Lee is injured and Aramis Ramirez is struggling.

1B Albert Pujols, St. Louis - The reigning MVP will try to prove that last season wasn't a fluke, as if he has to prove it season after season.

2B Chase Utley, Philadelpia - Despite a slump right now, Utley is on pace for a repeat performance in his first full season as the starting 2B.

SS Jose Reyes, New York Mets - Benefiting from the offense this season, he leads the league in run scored and SB and the leading vote-getter among his position.

3B David Wright, New York Mets - He's making New Yorkers trying to forget that other 3B from New York with his five-tool performance.

OF Alfonso Soriano, Washington - The best 2B in the league, if the team actually let him play there.

OF Carlos Beltran, New York Mets - New York is finally getting their money's worth of this kid in his second season with the team.

OF Carlos Lee, Milwaukee - Always putting big number but never getting the recognition for it, whether it's was with the White Sox or Brewers.

U.s. immigration & visas?

is there anyone i can talk to at U.S.C.I.S. about my chances of getting a visa to visit my 3 year old son in STL, i have'nt seen him in 18 months as i was refused a visa in london. i'm scared to reapply for a visa, i was told if i get refused again it will be virtually impossible to get one. I don't want my son to grow up not knowing his father. His mother does'nt live with him, he is being raised by his grandparents. I have looked at the USCIS site %26amp; don't know which option would apply to my case. I don't have the money for lawyers, i'm 45yrs old so the student thing is'nt for me,i'm english so the green card lottery does'nt apply.there must be some way to be with my son! PLEASE HELP!!!

U.s. immigration %26amp; visas?
first of who and why were you turned down.

the laws for this and other things are on www.uscis.gov and you can try to contact the us embassy where you are.

explore more at www.travel.state.gov

Unless you commited a crime you DO NOT need a visa to enter the us from the uk. passport maybe not a visa. it is on waiver list for now. so, if you are being turned down it could be you have a criminal record, outstanding warrants etc. that would deny you entry to the usa.
Reply:You don't make sense-if you are British you don't need a visa as you are covered under the visa waiver program.
Reply:As a UKC you can travel with Visa Waiver (90 Days in the USA without a visa )

good luck
Reply:Marry a US citizen, you silly bloke.
Reply:I guess the reason why you are not going down the visa waiver route is because you want to stay longer term. If this is the case...the student route is your best option...why, at 45, is this not for you?

Rate on 1-10 fantasy football...i think i went over board on rb but i got j.jones in the 12 round!!!?
QB: Palmer is a fairly good QB, he usually puts up big numbers. Smith is an up and coming QB, but nowhere near Palmer's calibur, use him only for bye weeks.

RB: Addai should do very well without Rhodes stealing carries from him this year, but the big worry is, can he handle the workload himself, he should be find though and do you proud. McGahee isn't going to do nearly as well as he did in Buffalo, the Raven's offense leaves something to be desired, he will get points, just, not as many as you hope he will. Thomas Jones, without Benson taking carries from him, should do fairly well with the Jets, now that the ground and air game seem balanced, the opponent's defense will have to worry about both. Benson is a good RB, but I'm doubtful of how he can handle the workload alone. Julius Jones loses a lot of TDs to Barber, ruining his fantasy value, he's still a star, but his value has decreased.

WR: Johnson is a great WR, but being in Houston takes some of the points away, he'll still produce, but not as much as if he was on another team. Jackson is another great WR and pairing up with Smith, he should put up good numbers this year. Jackson isn't rated to have a high number of points, but I think with Gates and LT being the opponent's biggest worries, he'll only be single covered and get a lot more poitns than he's projected to have. Bennett isn't worth too much cept for bye week fill in. Walker is the same.

TE: Witten is a good TE, but TO gets a lot more looks as he is Romo's favorite target, but he'll still give good poitns for a TE%26gt;

Def: The Eagles are set to have a promising defense this year, a good starter. Hansen shoud see a lot of field goal attempts without a real RB and Kitna being injury prone.

Summary: You could trade away some of your RB: Benson, JOnes, for better WRs, you need them to make this team a real winner. Also backups for TE, DEF, and K. I'd drop Bennett and Walker and pick up some of those.

And no.. I wouldn't go for that trade.

You might want to look to trade one of your reserve batters.. Maybe Guillen or Votto to improve your bullpen(CPs). Lyon is maybe 2 blown saves away from losing his closer role, so look to replace him just to be on the safe side.
Reply:Beast.. Only need some more closers. Lyon won't get the job done everytime.

Your team is stacked ill give it a 93
Reply:75-88, depending on how many teams in the league.

You have great depth at SS and OF. If Longoria pans out, nice pick up at 3B. Cordero must have been a waiver wire pick up, but I like Jenks and Isringhausen a lot this year. Decent, but not great SPs. You should definitely be in contention, but a few injury prone guys, so your team may look a lot different come the All-Star Break.
Reply:i think it's good... i suggest you get more speed in the infield. young can't play as good as he used to. try to trade for Jeter, Rollins, or Reyes. Your P is decent, but you should look into getting better RP.

89 out of 100
Reply:real nice, i'd try and trade a guy on your bench for another solid starting pitcher...probably one of your SS

95 overall
Reply:You need a legit base stealer which would make you a 93 to 96. Right now 85 to 89.

Help with my fantasy baseball team?
Id rate it a 5-6 range.

Well, some ideas you could do is:

You need SP badly. Lyon, Neskek, and Milwood just wont cut it in the long run. You have decent backups at 3B and SS. So you could decide to part with Braun and or Renteria, sell high and get good pitching for them. Kouz is more than capable at 3B for cheap, and you will get a top pitcher or 2 for Braun with a team that needs an upgrade at 3B.

Escobar should be your starting SS here anyways, so you could trade Renteria, or keep Edgar and trade Yunel selling high, for some good pitching as well.

Your bench could use some help too, so if you want to trade 1 star for 1 star SP and a better bench player, do it.

What free agents are available? You could maybe steal Heath Bell who will be the closer in SD soon. I would have to believe there are better free agents available than Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Colby Rasmus
Reply:Like A 4 MAYBE, depending on how generous I feel. Pitching staff isn't too bad, that is your saving grace. I might would drop some of my back up hitters since they aren't going to help you much and pick up another pitcher. Or better yet... trade Nady while he is hot, and pick up another closer or second tier starter
Reply:It's a train wreck...

starting line up ok except is Gathright starting?

I would cut all your offensive bench except for Polanco and use the roster spots for pitching...

what good will all those bats do on the bench except upset you when they go 5 for 5 while you starter lays an egg.

all teams play 5 to 6 games a week anyway so why waste roster spots on 1 or 2 days of substitution.

you should be starting more pitchers and winning those categories while your set and forget offense does it's job.

keep 3 to 4 closers and the rest starters.

JOBA is a middle reliever so he won't get many wins or saves. so go with trade # 2.
Reply:Wow. I'd definately no to the first and Yes on the 2nd. Berkman will help you a lot and you can afford to lose Lester and Joba.
Reply:I don't love or hate trade 1, but trade 2 would be a steal for you. Delmon Young's got upside but won't be as good as Berkman, who a couple of seasons ago was one of the top fantasy hitters in the game. And Joba's great and all, but he won't have an impact in fantasy until he's a starter, which you might have to wait a whole half season for. Lester isn't much of a downgrade considering he's a full time starter on a powerful AL team, and even if he doesn't succeed, having webb haren and halladay on ur staff is plenty good enough.

All-Star MLB Playoff Bracket, who wins?
I'd take the NL West.

The Central has the slight edge in hitting, even with unproven Soto starting. But, the West has way better pitching, and pitching, in my opinion, is more important than hitting.
Reply:What an idiot... Matt Cain deserves to be on that list Report It

Reply:NL West pitching dominates Report It

Reply:I would go with the West, simply because of their pitching. The central has the better hitting, but the West's pitching is really deep and includes 2 of the top 4 pitchers in baseball in Webb and Peavy.
Reply:NL Central

i like the west pitching but the sticks in the Central are good enough to hit 'em
Reply:central
Reply:NL West, pitching wins and those starters besides Lincecum are top 15 in baseball. Oswalt and Zambrano are the only top 15 pitchers in the NL Central in my opinion.

How many people in the league? To assemble a team like in a 10+ team league would be amazing.

Based on fantasy stats, that's easily a 10 on a 10 point scale.

FYI, Elton Brand is probably done, and Diop really should be a #5.

Also, take a look at Brandon Bass. He'll be a good sleeper to pick up, and he'll possibly give you numbers close to Elton Brand.
Reply:i would have to give you a nine out of ten, but for the most part your fantasy team looks good. Maybe it would be a ten if you had steve nash!!
Reply:Great team. Possibly needs the Shaq and Yao (by the way im Aussie) but apart from that they would beat any team around the world. 8.5/10.

P.S. put al horford over diop, seriously.. n jefferson over hamilton.. if you really think you have a chance in the assist department, then keep nelson in the start.. but if not, put in either hamilton or peja at the guards.. hope this helps..
Reply:It would've been so much better if you didn't have so much injured or brittle players. I'm talking about McGrady, Stojakovic, Brand, Gordon, Jefferson, and Bosh. Right now I'd give it a 6.8-7.3. maybe 8.1-8.7 if you're able to replace those injured or brittle players w/ healthier players but posts fairly the same stats.
Reply:I would say 5.

This team is fantastic. It would help to know how many people in the league though, your pitching is fine with Justin Verlander and Chris Young, both all stars. Good Luck.
Reply:He has a contender......tell him to do some looking around for Bobby Howry of the Cubs, who may be the closer for the rest of the year....Ryan Dempster had to shut down a "simulated" assignment Saturday %26amp; may be out for the season. He has some great sticks that may be dangled for another legit closer on a contending ball club.
Reply:This team looks pretty good when just being glanced over, but there are a few changes that could be made.

The Starting Lineup: A very strong lineup as far as for average, RBIs, and Homeruns. Knoerko is injury prone however, and is playing for a team where he won't get alot of support.

Starting Pitching: Pretty good pitching as well, but more relievers could be a key. Unlike starters, they have the potential to play any day. Try to pick up a reliever like Al Reyes (hes hurt but will be back soon) or Pat Neshek. You'll get more innings pitched, and can just place your starters in when it's their day to start.

Bench: Heres where a little work can be done. First of all, Ken Griffey should really be a starter, hes having a great year; Chrone Figgins however, struggeled for the early portion of the year. Howie Kendrick has lost some of his firepower, and Adrian Gonzalez has stopped hitting for average (hes really only got Homeruns and RBIs... he could kill your teams Batting Average).

All in all, the team is very strong offensively, but needs a few minor changes. The pitching is good, but more relievers could set you up for a great season.

Looks pretty good. Only thing i disagree with is Carolina, I think they are probably going to take J. Adai from LSU. Thus, leaving my beloved Steelers to take L. White from USC. I could be bias on this tho, simply because I love White and think hed fit right in with the Steelers offense. If Carolina doesnt take, Adai, then i beileve the Steelers will. Good call with Moss tho, Steelers need that as well.
Reply:Since when is Cutler a LB? Is he replacing Ray Ray???? LOL Report It

Reply:No J. Adai(RB LSU) in the top 20. Other than that it looks good. The Raiders are gonna try to trade up for V. Young.
