What you think of my fantasy baseball team 14 team league also is tony Armas worth a pick up?
okay bro check it lets go with a player by player analysis and see what this teams weakness and strength and where it could improve and if it oculd use a different player or something alone those lines

c- Micheal Barret.....Barrett hit 16 HR for the third time in three years, though he did it in just 375 ABs in '06. He also had a career-high .302 average and .885 OPS. A foul ball off his nether-regions ended his year on September 2, but he'll be okay for spring. In a league bereft of consistent fantasy catchers, he's solid....good for 15-20/70/.300 which are rather excellent numbers for a catcher...

1b- Lance Berkman has great value due to his eligibilty in outfield and first base....now has carlos lee in the lineup for protection so he will see more pitches to hit there fore producing better numbers...had a monster year last year though...look for him to contribute to your team with numbers along the lines of 40/120/.310 and steal ya 5 lol 5 steals is a plus for you lol!.....he will have another monster year in houston guarenteed.....

2b- Jeff Kent.....Failed to reach 500 AB's for the first time since he was a Met, and he turns 39 this March. Neither is a good sign. Still, played at elite level after a wretched April. A worthwhile 2B in NL and a great MI in Mixed, but chances are someone else will pay as if it's still 2000, and he's the MVP....good for 25/95/.290 on the year in los angeles....

3b- Scott Rolen....The rift between Rolen and Tony La Russa was front-page news until St. Louis won the World Series. It stemmed from a shoulder injury Rolen minimized; when La Russa found out how bad it really was, he benched his starting 3B. Now the team's defending its title, Rolen's had surgery, and should be productive once more......look for him to give you solid numbers batting in the same lineup as pujols which pretty much gives you 100 runs 25/90/.280 on the year in st louis...

ss- Jonny Peralta....Peralta was the walking poster-boy for the sophomore slump in 2006, and we believe he'll bounce back in 2007 since his peripherals stayed solid. His struggles actually give him sleeper status, and you shouldn't hesitate to grab him later/cheaper than you did last season while expecting improved results...20/75/.275 on the year in a very underrated very powerful lineup out in cleveland where taht team will do better than expected...

of- Jason Bay.......On the plus side 100/100 is rare, and speed plus power is even rarer. On the minus side, 35/15 is realistic, he can do it all basically he is a stud in almost every category.....expect him to give you numbers such as 35/120/.300 and steal 15 bases this year as well out in pittsburgh.....

of- Pat " the bat " Burrell.....Was off to a torrid start before a foot injury sapped his BA and then power. Tons of trade talks in off-season, but he's still 30, still plays in a homer-haven and still is scheduled to bat behind Ryan Howard. All signs point to another 30 homer season out of him!.....i see him getting 30/105/.270 and thats good considering hes on the bench for you!...

of- Ken Griffey Jr....... Junior is already in mid-season form: hurt. He broke his hand playing with his kids, but should be ready for the season lol. Expect a repeat of 06' which include 25/70/.270 for the year.....

of- Aaron Rowand.....Plays so hard, he cannot play often enough. Only topped 140 games once, and wasn't that good when he did. Doesn't do any one thing on elite level, but offers nice overall production and should score a lot if he stays healthy. ......good for 15/60/.280 and steal 15 bases as well out in philadelphia.....

as for the rotation

sp- Chris Carpenter.....Carpenter as of right now will be missing his next start but... he signed a big deal through 2012, ensuring that St. Louis's best pitcher stays in the fold the rest of his career. He's actually got fewer innings on him than most 31-year-olds, and when he's healthy, he's fantasy money. In '06, ilike him more than any other starter in the National League....hes still got tremendous upside and could post numbers such as 16-7 190k and era around 3 for the enitre year out in saint louis....so keep an eye on him and sell high if he might go on the dl ...try to pawn him off on a sucker in your league before that happens so keep an eye on the news about him......

sp- John Lackey Raised his K/9IP by 1.5 in second half, but also saw WHIP balloon from 1.02 to 1.57. Lackey has skills to be Cy Young contender. .....he is a legit threat to k 200 seing as how last year he struck out 190 and i dont expect his numbers to really decrease either...look for him to go about 15-10 with 190k and era around 3.80 for the year in los angeles......

sp- dice k........This guy is an ace. He has multiple plus pitches, a funky delivery, and he has dominated. The only concern is an unreal workload in Japan. You know he'll be hyped and drafted high. It doesn't matter: If he has a good spring (and he should), go for it.....he should have a record of about 16-5 with an era around 3 with 200k on the year in boston.....

sp- Chris Young.....Young's fastball isn't incredible, but with his height and leverage, it looks like it's 100 mph. He changes the look and break on his off-speed stuff, and his command is solid. When he makes a mistake, it gets drilled, but his workload has been low, and he is smart. Expect him to improve....has great upside and potential....look for him to go 14-9 with 200k and an era around 3 and a half on the year out in san diego....

sp- Tim Hudson.....Tim Hudson too had a rather good first start this season...Was arguably the worst pitcher in the NL during July last year, yet still went 2-2 in the month. No longer elite, his ERA and WHIP will continue slow slide, but should get some wins and not hurt you. ....look for him to go 14-11 with era around 4.10 and strikeout 145 on the year in atlanta with the braves

sp- Greg Maddux.....maddux At age 41, it may be a risk to bank on 200+innings out of him, but he should still be good for 10+ wins and good ratios (perhaps sub-4.00 ERA) at Petco....so he can possibly put up numbers like 15-14 and era around 4 ...not much of a strikeout pitcher though.....

sp- Derek Lowe....Last two seasons' stats are nearly identical except he went 12-15 in '05 and 16-8 in '06. Team should be good again in '07, so expect the higher win total. Cut walk rate in half after the break and let opponents beat the sinker into the ground. Nice SP2. If he's available as an SP3 in NL-only leagues, he's a bargain.....good for about 16-11 era around 3.80 and 150 strikeouts as well......

sp- Seth Mclung had the closing job last year and didnt do good at all...he has great stuff but he doesnt know how to control and harness it, has poor control but great velocity, McClung moved from the rotation to the bullpen last season with middling results. He has the fastball of the gods, but little command (in the majors, at least). And we don't care how buff you are; 6-6, 280 is not a height-weight ratio to get excited about -- unless you're Sir MixaLot. McClung's a big sleeper for saves, however.....

sp- Kelvim Escobar....... I know it was you, Kelvim. You broke my heart. Escobar has talent but is made of glass. He's only pitched 200+ IP once, and may never again. With strikeouts, decent starter in mixed leagues....had potential but never able to put it together....look for him to go 13-9 with era around 3.50 and 150k on the year whcih is pretty solid ...for a 3 pitcher......

p- Kevin Millwood 2 years ago led the al in era ....ever since moving to texas not anymore....Millwood's a pretty good pitcher trapped in a microwave oven. His '06 numbers in the Arlington bandbox: 5.38 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, .279 BAA. His numbers on the road: 3.74 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, .265 BAA. The Rangers haven't moved, so unless you like drafting pitchers and starting them only half the time, avoid Millwood.......look for him to give you 16-11 with an era of 4 and 160 strikeouts on the year in texas....

p- Braden Looper.....is the number 3 starter as of right now but had a really bad whip against lefties last year and i dont know how long that will be able to hold up before the really lets himself go.....look for him to go 7-10 and era around 4 for the year....

p- Bobby Jenks is on the Billy Koch career path; a power-pitching, post-elbow-surgery, minor-league-starter-come-reli... who dominates with his two best pitches. He faded in the second half, but worked on his conditioning this offseason.....so his era will most likely remain elevated but good numbers other than that so you should expect to see him go 2-3 and save 40 games with era around 3.60 and striking out 75 or so on the year......

so overall your lineup has decent power throughout and somehwat decent average but wheres the steals??? you have no legit 20 base stealer on your team....you need at least 2 base threats to contend in a league unless they dont count sb in your league so look for a wily taveras, kenny lofton, or chris duffy to get some sb or trade for a base stealer...you have decent power on your team heres a list of sleepers that you should take alook at and keep them in mind if you are looking on the waiver wire for a sleeper pick......

c- iannetta who could have breakout year

1b- lyle overbay who hits for average some power and some rbis as well....if hes gone look for phelps who could do good with the yanks hitting 4 homers in spring training

2b- ty wigginton who can hit the deep ball and is eligible at multiple positions

3b- iwamura has been promising to start as well who will hit for average

ss- troy tulowitzki will as well have a breakout year at ss in colorado

of- elijah dukes who has shown promisinig power to start the year....

of- chris duncan will hit around 30 homers this year

of- jonny gomes will hit alot of hw as well if healthy

of- brad hawpe is good for around 20 homers in colorado

util- nick markakis is going to have a stellar year for baltimore this kid is here to stay

and as for your rotation you have 4 legit aces on their all capable of 200k 16 win seasons if they pitch to their potential....and your other pitchers aretn exactly chopped liver either they will fetch you quality starts as well..as for your rp you have on legit closer in jenks and mcclung is no longer the closer in tampa bay since they named al reyes their closer to so you could use another closer as well...look at this list of sleepers to help your bench of your rotation if you want to .....

Sp- Jason jennings is going to have a very solid year in houston proving that on his first outing

sp- chuck james who has kept his era this spring around 1 in 5 starts will be stellar in atlanta this year

sp- clay hensley who has a good k rate should do fine in sd if healthy

rp- dan wheeler could close out the year in houston if lidge cant go....

rp- torres could shock alot of people has kept ball down this yera and could save around 30 games

p- wainwright who also has kept era around 1 this spring.......

p- jeremy sowers who proved he could pitch in cleveland last year shall repeat again thsiy ear

p- westbrook is consistent as they come

and you could even add ian snell, gil meche, or daniel cabrera to that list and keep an eye on adam loewen tonight as well

overall decent team especially since it is 14 teams so thats solid......but dont go for tony armas hes not worth it go for a jennings or snell or someone

hope i helped

goodluck

and have fun!!!
Reply:You have a pretty solid team there... including some great starting pitching... if you really wanted to get Armas - I would drop McClung as he is no longer an option to close for the D-Rays and is pretty much worthless in fantasy baseball at this point...
Reply:O My God.You have Seth McClung?Whats wrong with you. Didn't you hear he was so awful in Spring Training that he got sent down to the minors.Dude seriously keep up to date with your fantasy palyers.Otherwise your going to lose big time. You can't get any worse then him.Get Mike Pelfrey he's coming to the Majors on the 15th.He's dominating the Minors. He's supposed to be the next Verlander.Pick up 1B Ryan Shealy he's a sleeper. He's supposed to have a breakout year according to CBS.SPORTSLINE.COM
Reply:great picks
