That trade is a horrible one for your team. He's preying on your perceived need for RP, and you really are ok there. Nathan is one of the best out there, and Borowski, while not all that great, will keep his job for a while simply because the Indians don't have any other options.

On the flip side, you are giving up an irreplacable ace in Carpenter and a much better OF in Abreu (compared to Ordonez). All to get Isringhausen who is looking really shaky in his job.

Don't panic and pull the trigger to get saves, and if you do, make sure it's a solid closer, not Izzy. Go out and get a setup man who is likely to take over as closer somewhere. Some good options: Zumaya, Howry, Mike Gonzalez, Wheeler. But donot panic as your current RP are fine.
Reply:Do NOT make that trade!

Your team has a chance if some of the young players you're taking a chance on pan out.

Keep your eyes open early in the season for good grabs off of waivers. You're going to need more power hitters to do well with this team.

Joe Borowski sucks. Get another reliever. Consider Zumaya or Wainwright, both of whom might have starting closer jobs by the end of the year.
Reply:That trade does not look very good for you. Abreu is a solid hitter who can cash in on a variety of stats (actually a pretty solid 5 tool player), and your also giving up Carpenter who can be the best pitcher in the NL if he stays healthy. For who? Smoltz who is only getting older, and Izzy who makes me shudder (spends way too much time injured).
Reply:i wouldn't do the trade

Abreu is too good!
Reply:Don't do that trade ! Abreu is in a contract year and will have a big year!
