Help!!! will i get better in scoring...?
well it all just relies on your work ethic, as long as you are working hard to improve I see no reason why your numbers wont go up.
Reply:U seem pretty decent, You seem a defensive threat avg 3stl. You'll get better U have 5 more years to really shine at ur game. I sucked in middle school, I practiced my but off in the summer and Now I'm looking for what school choices to go to.
Reply:learn to move without the ball if you creat space for yourself you will get more oppunitities. If you are a good free throw shooter the best move for a pf/c is a pump fake to draw a fowl and get free throws
Reply:As a center/power forward you have to be able to establish position. You should own the key. Work on you footwork facing the basket and with your back to the basket. Many people believe that scoring is the measure of how good a player you are. This isn't true especially at the position you play. Average 10-12 rebounds a game and 8-10 points a game and you will be a star. Remember that there are many things that make a great player that aren't measured by stats alone. Learn to set effective screens to get your teammates open. Learn to play effective help-side defense with the ability to recover to your man. As a post player just being able to change a driving player's shot will drastically reduce the other team's shooting percentage. With hard work and discipline you or anyone for that matter can make themselves into a force to be reckoned with on the court. Keep up the good work and never lose you love for the game.
Reply:its always a good idea to devote extra work on your weak points. as 13 yr old playing on the blocks doesn't mean that is where you will play at a higher level. although considered an exception, magic johnson was a 6'8" point guard. another way to improve your all around game is to down to a local blacktop or rec center and play with the big boys. initially you may not fit in, but eventually you'll raise the level of your game to survive which will make you that much more dominating against players of your age group.
Reply:if u practice and work really hard. with the way you described yourself, you seem like you aren't the type to be driving and scoring inside and the only way you score is off of passes from your teamates. you didn't even mention post game and ur a c/pf so you should work on becoming better at driving to the hoop.
Reply:it depends on how far you want to go in basketball. high school-practice 1 hr a day, college-2-3 hrs aa day, nba- all day...haha
