Tell me what you think of a team in a league of 14
How's my Fantasy Baseball team?
i'm not a huge fan of it, probably finish middle of the pack i would guess
Reply:nice team, get rid of buehrle if ne1 takes him from u or just drop him for som1 else
Reply:its about a 8 out of 10. hope this helps.
Reply:Im not liking your offense very much. good outfield. need help at first base. I like your pitching for a league of 14. dont rely on joel pinero at the closer position. Colon a gamble hes just getting better from last years injury. I dont know too much about Chad Billingsley. I can tell you right now that your team is gonna have a high ERA problem. You should look around the free agents see if theres any better pitchers and hitters to get.
Reply:Someone was right about help at 1B - but the help you need is only for days that Duncan plays against LHP. Juan Encarnacion will start games for Duncan when they face a LHP starter. Other than that, Chris will surprise some fantasy owners this year - he has the power to hit 40HR's with 100 RBI's.
There may be some options in your league. You have 2 pitchers that will start the season on the DL, Josh Johnson and Colon. So you will have bench room. There are some interesting deep back up choices in a league of your size that could fill in for the 30 games Duncan may miss (and keep in mind that Duncan will not start those games, but the second they put in a RHP he will be in). Some guys that may go unnoticed are Chris Shelton - although he has been picked more frequently. One interesting player that is looking like he is ready for the season is Wes Helms, he is tearing it up in spring training and has 1B/3B eligibility.
Keep your eye on Piniero, he is still the best option for closer but it will become obvious real fast if they have to find another solution. Greinke....eewwww... I don't like Zack and KC starters just give up WHOP..Yes I spelled that right, Walk, Hit and Out of the Park... look deep for a pitcher that has long been under drafted and forgotten named John Maine. You may also be able to find Adam Eaton or Randy Wolf around the same value. Billingsley is about the same, #5 starter and may get skipped in the rotation if he struggles but he could be a surprise if he holds his ERA and lowers his WHIP. Giving up a .272 BAA is danger waiting to happen - but the real problem is that LH batters hit over .300 against him - in other words, don't play him against Barry.
Unless you are scoring HOLDS, Rincon can't help you much. If you are hoping for him to get a shot at closer, there are better options. If you are scoring Holds - you'll need more relief pitching.
Over all - it's a solid team that mostly just needs back up help on occasion.
By the way Edwin Encarnacion is a great pickup this year.
