How is this Fantasy Baseball Team for 2oo8 Looking: 12 Teams?
Your pitching is sick. I believe Young, Bonderman, and Guthrie should be pretty stellar in 2008. You definitely took a hit at the OF position. Ellsbury could be dealt today for Santana and that would be bad news for you. Young could produce if Minny lets him, and Shane V. is a steal in my opinion. His season last year has been forgotten by too many. Willingham could add some nice insurance as well as Tavaras, although I don't like him that much. Carpenter could catapult you into the playoffs when he returns. Another stealt there. Overall, I'd give you an A- or B+. Good luck this season.
Reply:I like your pitching a lot. Overall it seems like a good team. My only concern would be your outfield. Other than that it looks pretty solid.
Reply:Pitching is ridiculously sick, OF is a wait and see, maybe need an upgrade at C and in my opinion 2B, Uggla is too overrated as a fantasy player.
Reply:Well that team is looking like you won yourself a league. How you faired so well in a 12 team league is amazing. If this league is H2H that is.

Your pitching is well balanced with W and with Ks. You have a good starting base for closers but picking up one down the line wouldnt hurt.

The only thing your starting hitters are lacking is power other than in Cabrera. Morneau is a good ROTO player but I wouldnt classify him as a power guy just yet. You dont have a lot of SB on your team either that can hurt if this league is ROTO, if its H2H that should matter so much. This team will be very heavy into runs and hits because the speed you do have is a little better than average.

Your backups are a nice addition to your team, taveras and willingham add the needed speed and will fill in nicely if injuries happy. Although, adding one more big name via a trade or such couldn't hurt. Something to solidify that lineup.

Your OF was sacrificed but with good reason. Your pitching is outstanding and in a 12 team league, its unlikely to see that again. But Young is going to have his coming out party this year and is very underrated. Victorino was a multi-category surprise last year and will probably do just as good this year. Ellisbury is still young, I expect you to start willingham for much needed power.

Your catcher and 2b are fine because those positions don't run very deep anyway. The studs in those categories go first round anyway and you chose better players from the start.

Overall Pitching:

Roto A-

H2H A-

Batting:

Roto C

H2H B

The addition of one more closer and one more "power" guy would put this team over the top.

Reply:This is a really good team in a 12 team league.

Personally I think you can always find OFs on the waiver wire if you are worried about it. Still the OF you got have high upsides for what they could produce.

There is always someone looking to trade for pitching too. I think a lot of this team.
Reply:I like your infield, lover your closers, overall good to very good for a 12 teamer - but you still have some work to do

I'm worried about Halladay's dropping K rate, that could really come back to kill his performance, plus he usually falls victim to a fluke injury so you'll need to work around some DL time

Chris Young had some back trouble last year and I think is a legit health risk this season, once the back goes it's very tough to pitch

So I'm worried about your rotation - watch for the following rookies to beef it up- Gio Gonzalez (I'd get him now), Johnny Cueto, Ian Kennedy and Many Parra

Your OF is very weak but you have a ton of speed, Taveras is a great sleeper and may steal 50 bags - I wonder if you could trade Delmon Young and Ellsbury for a masher like Adam Dunn???

Keep an eye out for the following rookie OF - Steven Pearce, Colby Rasumus and Jay Bruce

I also like Geoff Jenkins as a sleeper this year, he's pretty washed up but is a left and playing in Coors Field East (Philly) so even in a platoon he could get 450 ABs which might be enough to push 30 HRs in that park, he get hurt a lot but he could be a really good power option for the month or 2 that he's healthy with a lot of home stands
